El slugger cubano Kendrys Morales es uno de los peloteros más populares entre la fanaticada de la isla y con fundamento. Hoy les traemos un listado histórico de la MLB, donde el exjugador de Industriales es el único nacido en Cuba.
La hazaña no es otra que conectar dos jonrones en una misma entrada de un juego de Grandes Ligas.
Para Kendrys el dia fue el 30 de julio del 2012, en partido que los Angelinos usaron para hacer una demostración de poder sobre los Rangers y les vencieron con marcador de 15 carreras por 8, con 16 hits incluidos 4 jonrones.
Kendrys bateó de 6-2 ese día, con 6 remolcadas, pues uno de los bambinazos fue con uno a bordo (a la zurda) y el otro con las bases llenas (a la derecha). Para completar la proeza, el cubano se convirtió en el tercer bateador de la historia en hacerlo bateando de ambos lados del plato.
Kendrys terminó el 2012 con línea ofensiva de 273/320/467, con 26 dobles, un triple, 22 jonrones y 73 remolques en 134 partidos jugados.
El listado lo inauguró para Latinoamérica el boricua Carlos Baerga, en 1993 (lo hizo a las dos manos) y por países está repartida de la siguiente manera (considerando su lugar de nacimiento):
- República Dominicana 8
- Puerto Rico 2
- Venezuela 2
- Cuba 1
Para los que gustan anotar, el único latino que lo ha logrado dos veces es el dominicano Edwin Encarnación y el único pelotero en la historia con dos jonrones con bases llenas en la MLB en una entrada es Fernando Tatis Sr. (ante un mismo pitcher para agregarle sabor a la leyenda).
