El slugger cubano Yonder Alonso ha anunciado su retiro de las Grandes Ligas de béisbol, con una emotiva carta a su deporte favorito y que en breve le compartimos por acá.

Retiro
Retiro… ¡guau! No puedo creer que esté aquí. Siempre estaré agradecido por lo que me ha bendecido el béisbol y las amistades que he creado. Quiero aprovechar esta oportunidad y agradecer a mi FAMILIA –
Mamá, Papi, Hermana, Manny, Pete. Ustedes son los que me han hecho. ¡Los amo muchachos! Haré todo lo posible para que sea breve y dulce, pero aquellos que me conocen saben que puedo emocionarme con estas cosas. No puedo agradecerles lo suficiente a todos ustedes.
Reds, Padres, Athletics, Mariners, Indians, White Sox, Rockies y Braves. Les agradezco desde el fondo de mi corazón. Un joven cubano con grandes sueños de triunfar en este país libre, los superé a todos y más.
Además, por último, pero no menos importante, Danny Lozano y EQUIPO!! El mejor agente del mundo. Has estado allí desde el primer día y no puedo agradecerles lo suficiente por las conversaciones nocturnas y los largos y fríos días en Rochester, ¡ayudándome a hacer realidad mis sueños!
Ahora es el momento de abrazar lo que venga a continuación, pero lo más importante, disfrutar de mis hermosos hijos y enseñarles todas las lecciones que he aprendido a lo largo de este increíble viaje.

A young Cuban boy with big dreams to make it in this free country, I’ve surpassed them all and then some. Also, last but not least, Danny Lozano and TEAM!! The best agent in the world. You’ve been there since day one and I can’t thank you enough for the late night talks and the long, cold days in Rochester, helping make my dreams come true! Now it’s time to embrace whatever comes next, but most importantly, enjoy my beautiful kids and teach them all the lessons I’ve learned throughout this amazing journey. Thank you!!! God bless forever
