From Franklin Arias in Boston to Josué De Paula in Los Angeles, Latin baseball talent is on the verge of reaching the Major Leagues at the most important time of the year.

The Latino talent is there. The question is how many of these eleven will make the jump before the final games that matter are over.

Latin American baseball continues to produce talent. With the 2026 season entering its decisive stretch, eleven prospects of Latin American origin are on the cusp of the Major Leagues, ready to make the leap and, in some cases, transform organizations vying for a postseason berth.

Any player who debuts from now on will retain their rookie status for 2027, adding an extra layer of strategic value for teams that decide to call them up.

Those Who Could Be Called Up

Luis De León (Orioles) is a Dominican left-hander with eye-catching strikeout numbers—10.9 K/9 in his time at Triple-A—and an arsenal of slider, changeup, and splitter that makes life difficult for any hitter. Baltimore still needs to refine his control, but the jump to the Majors could come before the 40-man roster is finalized in the offseason.

In Boston, Franklin Arias is the name on everyone's lips. The 20-year-old Venezuelan has combined between Double-A and Triple-A to hit .310/.394/.565 with 23 home runs in 94 games. The Red Sox have been looking for production at shortstop all season, and Arias could be that answer—with both his glove and his bat.

The Yankees have Elmer Rodríguez, a Puerto Rican pitcher who leads the International League in ERA with 2.59, although his path to the roster is more likely through the bullpen than the rotation due to a lack of depth.

In Cleveland, Ralphy Velázquez arrives as the top first base prospect in all of baseball. The youngster's bat has combined .286/.376/.528 with 22 home runs between Double-A and Triple-A, and the Guardians need exactly that kind of offensive power if they want to contend for the title.

Nelson Rada carries the Venezuelan flag in the Angels' system. At 20 years old, he leads the Pacific Coast League with 32 stolen bases and a .378 on-base percentage. He's not a power hitter, but his speed and defense are already ready for the majors.

Alimber Santa (Astros) has already shown glimpses of what he can do—a 1.17 ERA in 10 appearances with the big league club. The Dominican returned to Triple-A to continue developing, and Houston could reactivate him as they fight for first place in the American League West.

Leonardo Bernal is the Panamanian catcher for the Cardinals who, in 29 games with Triple-A Memphis, has hit .321/.384/.598. With a pop-time close to 1.8 seconds and 15 home runs this season, Bernal could be the catcher of the future who is already ready for the present.

Carlos Jorge (Reds) is a case of resurrection. Unprotected in the Rule 5 Draft, the Dominican has responded with a combined .313/.376/.431 slash line and 31 stolen bases. His outfield defense has also matured to the point of being a benchmark in the system.

The Dreamers

Demetrio Crisantes is the best second base prospect in all of baseball and belongs to the Diamondbacks. With Ketel Marte on the injured list, Arizona has the opportunity to see the 21-year-old Dominican in action. His numbers in Triple-A haven't been perfect, but the talent is there.

Josué De Paula (Dodgers) is the most exciting. The Dominican leads the Texas League in practically every offensive category — .314/.411/.557, 94 runs scored, 91 RBIs — at 21 years old. Los Angeles doesn't have roster space for everyone, but De Paula is the kind of talent who will eventually find his place.

Ethan Salas rounds out the Padres' list. The 20-year-old Venezuelan catcher already has the defense for the majors, and his contact rates in Triple-A reinforce the idea that he can contribute off the bench as San Diego pushes for its first World Series title.

The Latino talent is there. The question is how many of these eleven will make the jump before the final games that matter are over.
