Jorge Soler has recorded 11 home runs, 49 hits, 37 runs batted in, and 30 runs scored during the 2026 season.

Jorge Soler has joined a select group of Cuban baseball players with his 214th career home run in MLB.

When Jorge Soler connects with a baseball, everyone in the stadium stops to watch. It’s a violent, majestic display of pure power that has defined his career for over a decade. But his latest home run wasn't just another majestic blast to help his team; it was a swing that rewrote the history books for Cuban baseball.

Soler launched his 11th home run of the 2026 season, reaching a monumental milestone of 214 career home runs. With that single swing, he officially bypassed Kendrys Morales (213) to take sole possession of the 6th spot on the all-time home run list for Cuban-born players in Major League Baseball history.

Now, at 34 years old, Soler is looking directly at the legends who built the foundation for Cuban players in the Majors.

Chasing Cooperstown Royalty

Soler’s climb up the historic ladder is far from over. With 214 career blasts, he sits just six home runs away from matching Hall of Famer Tony Oliva (220) for the 5th spot in Cuban baseball history.

Once he passes Oliva, the names ahead of him represent the absolute royalty of Cuban power: José Abreu (263), Hall of Famer Tony Pérez (379), José Canseco (462), and Rafael Palmeiro (569).

To be in the same sentence as these icons is a testament to Soler’s incredible longevity and consistency. This season marks his 9th career campaign reaching double-digits in home runs—six of which have come in consecutive years.

The Cuban Home Run King of a Single Season

For those who have followed Soler’s career closely at Swing Completo, his place in history was already secure. He remains the undisputed king of the single-season home run record for Cuban-born players.
Back in 2019, while playing for the Kansas City Royals, Soler shattered expectations by launching a monstrous 48 home runs to lead the American League.

That incredible number stands as the franchise record in Kansas City, a historic mark he now shares with Venezuelan star Salvador Pérez, who matched it a few seasons later.

An Elite Career and a Big Winter Ahead

Soler’s power has not only earned him a place in baseball lore, but it has also made him one of the most financially successful Cuban athletes of his generation.

According to Baseball Reference, Soler has surpassed $100 million in career earnings through his MLB contracts.

As the 2026 season progresses, Soler isn't just playing for historical positioning; he is also playing for his future. With his contract expiring at the end of this season, he is set to become a highly coveted free agent this winter.
Teams looking for proven, elite right-handed power and postseason pedigree will undoubtedly be knocking on his door.

At Swing Completo, we have chronicled every step of Soler's journey from the island to MLB stardom.
Watching him pass a giant like Kendrys Morales and close in on Tony Oliva is a reminder of why we cover this game. The numbers tell us where he is, but the history tells us who he is: one of the greatest Cuban sluggers to ever step onto a big-league diamond.
